Crafting Trust, Adorning Generations: 200 Years of Timeless Elegance
Amit Jewellers is a three-generation legacy built on trust, purity, and craftsmanship. The journey began in 1957, when our founder, Jugraj Sardarmalji Punamiya, moved from Barshi to Kolhapur and started crafting silver articles and gold beads, with a strong commitment to quality that earned lasting customer trust. The legacy was carried forward by Arvind Punamiya and later Amit Punamiya, who expanded the business by introducing silver pooja items while maintaining the same standards of purity and reliability.
Today, under the leadership of Amit Punamiya, the business has evolved with time, offering gold, diamond, and platinum jewellery, along with a wide range of silver products including idols, antique pieces, and customized designs. Amit Jewellers is also known for its intricate silver work for temples, such as doors, prabhavals, and chhatras.
Now established as a trusted brand under the trade marks JSP 100 and JSP 92.5, Amit Jewellers continues to uphold its legacy—serving generations of customers with the same dedication, trust, and excellence.

Shah Jugraj Sardarmal Punamiya
Grandfather Shah Jugraj Sardarmal Punamiya was originally from Barshi. Due to work, he moved to Kolhapur and eventually made it his permanent home. In 1957, Jugraj Sardarmalji Punamia began his journey in Kolhapur by manufacturing silver items and gold beads.
Although he hailed from Barshi, he became so deeply connected to Kolhapur that it turned into his karmabhoomi (place of work and destiny), something even he may not have realized at the time. When starting his business, he made a firm commitment to himself — no matter what, he would always maintain the purity of silver and gold.
Because of this strong principle, he earned the unwavering trust of his customers. Today, the third generation of the family, Amit Punamia, is carrying forward the business. Along with that, even the third generation of their long-standing customers continues to visit them for their purchases, reflecting the deep-rooted trust built over the years.

Arvind Punamiya
Arvind Punamiya made efforts to take forward and expand the business that was started by his father, Shah Jugraj Punamiya. After working alongside his father for many years, around 1970–75, Amit Punamia began taking charge of the business.
During this period, he decided to take the existing work of manufacturing silver utensils and gold beads to the next level by introducing new ideas. This led to the beginning of crafting pooja (religious) items made from silver.
While doing so, one of the biggest challenges before him was to maintain the trust built through their earlier work and, at the same time, establish confidence in the purity and quality of these new products. It is often more difficult to successfully sustain and grow an existing business than to start a new one, and Arvind Punamiya fulfilled this responsibility with great success.

Amit Punamiya
The responsibility of carrying forward the business, which had been nurtured and grown over 30–40 years by his grandfather and father, now came to Amit Punamiya. While he inherited strong customer trust, like his father, he too had the vision to introduce new ideas into the business. Times were changing, and there was a need to evolve with them. In the pursuit of offering something new to customers, the business expanded into gold jewellery, along with new varieties of silver products. These included idols of deities, maces (gada), swords, photo frames, and many antique-style items customized as per customer demand. In addition, diamond and platinum jewellery also began to be crafted here. A major milestone that gave the business a new identity was the silver work done for temples, which included temple doors, prabhavals (decorative backdrops), chhatras (canopies), and many other intricate items. During this period, Amit Punamiya also rebranded the business and established it as a recognized brand. Today, the work is carried out under two trademarks: JSP 100 and JSP 92.5. Despite introducing so many new offerings, Amit Jewellers continues to maintain the strong trust and credibility it has built with its customers over the years.
